The Director of Nursing is responsible for the implementation of
the approved nursing program at a local campus. The Director
represents the College within the community and is a leader in
promoting and implementing the mission, vision, and values of HCI
College. Responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day operations
for the specific program as well as ensuring long-range success of
the program, while promoting success through meeting the College
and program mission objectives. The Director is also responsible
for maintaining quality and regulatory standards including
oversight of program faculty, policies, and curriculum
development/implementation. The Director serves as a representative
of the program to regulatory and accreditation bodies, and to other
internal and external constituencies. The position reports to the
Dean of Academic Affairs and supervises instructional and support
staff within that program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Communicate with the Dean of Academic Affairs concerning
operational, regulatory, and accreditation issues as appropriate
while maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with students, faculty, and staff to create an
environment that supports learning and professional growth. Provide
extensive academic support services to students within the program
guidelines. Enforce existing College and programmatic policy.
Complete required reports analyzing the curriculum alignments.
Attend training as necessary to maintain knowledge and ensure
compliance. Lead professional growth in-service education for the
faculty. Participate in activities at the College, in the
community, and at professional levels. Participate in professional
development (i.e., continuing education, professional activities,
conference presentations, scholarly publications, etc.). Liaison
with community agencies, schools, special programs, and interest
groups affecting student services offered to HCI students.
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with local
high schools, colleges, universities, and state, local and federal
agencies. Collaborate with the Director of Admissions on product
knowledge and training of representatives as requested. Comply with
all governmental regulations and standards of accreditation:
Interpret and oversee compliance with pertinent federal, state, and
local laws, rules and accreditation regulations pertaining to the
program. Assist in preparation of accreditation materials for
school. Assist Career Services with standards on placement per
accreditation guidelines. Prepare program reports for all
regulatory and accreditation bodies. Comply with all governmental
regulations and standards of accreditation. Ensure classrooms,
labs, and other common academic areas meet any required
accreditation and programmatic requirements. Understand
institutional accreditation as it applies to the managed program.
Represent the program to the local advisory committee and the state
board of nursing. Prepare program reports for the state board of
nursing, regulatory and accreditation bodies. Establish and
maintain a local advisory committee. Maintain communication with
industry professionals and advisory committee members Monitor
faculty members in accordance with HCI College guidelines: Hire,
orient, supervise, and evaluate classroom and clinical/externship
faculty as needed to support the program(s). Coordinate faculty
scheduling within the program. Assist faculty as needed in the
preparation of lesson plans, learning activities and evaluation of
the learner’s knowledge. Supervise and evaluate program faculty per
accreditation requirements. Conduct Faculty Classroom Observations
at least once per term. Ensure that annual faculty development
plans are completed for each faculty member. Conduct or provide
professional development workshops for faculty and staff designed
to improve the campus climate for students. Assist in the
resolution of student and faculty issues. Facilitate regular
programmatic faculty meetings, represent the program to the local
advisory committee, facilitate curriculum review meetings. This
includes a published agenda and minutes of the meetings. Ensure the
accomplishment of learning outcomes established for the program:
Student advisement through regular meetings. Work with Dean of
Academic Affairs to resolve student complaints/appeals. Ensure the
faculty members are issuing student early alerts as necessary.
Assist with Academic Advisements as necessary. Advise students on
academic and career goals, and counsel them individually and in
groups on ways to overcome barriers to successfully continuing
their education. Evaluate student progress and competency based on
program philosophy and objectives. Evaluate sites for clinical
education, externship and preceptorship as applicable. Record
grades and submit reports. Create and organize class schedules and
distribute calendars to faculty and students. Schedule and conduct
new student orientation. Assist with the planning of and attend
graduation ceremonies. Prepare, submit, and manage the program
budget and expenditures to the Dean of Academic Affairs: Research
and request equipment and supplies essential to the Academic
program through HCI College budget and purchasing procedures. Keep
such equipment in good repair Coordinate textbook orders. Regular
and reliable attendance. Perform other duties and responsibilities
as assigned. Requirements: Skills/Competencies/Qualifications :
Excellent written and oral communication skills and analytical
skills. Excellent teaching skill and ability to efficiently manage
students’ clinical and skills lab activities. Computer literacy
skills including functional knowledge of Microsoft Office
applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.).
Ability to manage people and projects. A willingness to follow high
ethical standards. Education/Experience: Required: Current, active,
and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Advanced Practice
Registered Nurse (APRN) license issued by the Florida Department of
Health. Minimum of a current and active Basic Life Support (BLS)
certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Master’s degree with a major in nursing (MSN or equivalent) from an
accredited nursing program Minimum of four (4) years of related
practical work experience in the subject area(s) taught (per ACCSC)
Preferred: Minimum of 2 years clinical experience Minimum of two
(2) years’ experience teaching in pre or post licensure nursing
programs A minimum of 1 year experience in administration or
management Supervisory Responsibilities: All faculty for the
Associate Degree in Nursing program at the direction of the Dean of
Academic Affairs. Physical Demands: The physical demands are those
required in a professional office setting and higher education
teaching environment: communicating with students and staff,
demonstrating procedures and techniques, and getting to and from
appropriate classrooms and offices. Prolonged periods of sitting at
a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15
pounds at times Working Environment: Professional office setting:
moderate noise levels; controlled indoor climate. Reasonable

onsite position This position will be based out of: ? West Palm
Beach (Main Campus) ? Fort Lauderdale (A Branch of West Palm Beach)
Any changes must be reviewed by the Vice President of Academic
Affairs and Group Campus President/Chief Operating Officer. All
final approvals must come from the President/Chief Executive
Officer.
